Our team at Head Rush is full of outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers of all types. We are often found enjoying the many opportunities to camp, climb, hike, bike, fish, mountaineer, and more in our state of Colorado. The photos below offer a snapshot of our summer as we look back to another great season in and out of the office. Now on to fall and winter adventures!
Dana Schenhoffer, Key Account Manager
As with most summers, I spent as much time outside as possible. Highlights included rafting, kayaking, SUPing, hiking, horseback riding and climbing. This is one of those beautiful, sunny days outside of Moab with my husband, Chris.
Danny Walsh, Climbing Product Manager
This August, a friend and I beat the "eclipse rush" up to Grand Teton National Park and made our first ascents of the Grand Teton via the Owen-Spaulding route. We had a perfect weather window to the summit and then made it back to the car before dark. Washed it down with a night in Jackson. GTNP is a highly recommended trip!

2 AM wake up? Check. 30 degrees and dropping? Check. 2 great hiking companions? Check. Starting your hike in the wee hours of the night is a must if you want to trek to the top of Longs Peak. At 14,259 feet, Longs is considered one the most difficult 14ers in the Rockies. Rated number 9 or 10 usually. Ignoring the fact that this behemoth of a mountain is not for the beginners, Jori Stein, Troy Wells and myself decided bumble our way to the top. Mission accomplished. Seen in the picture is Jori Stein (left) victoriously posing atop his first 14er and myself (right) too tired to care.

This is a beautiful, cruisy section of trail at the top of Mt. Crested Butte. We skipped the chairlift and opted to ride up the mountain before enjoying some of the downhill trails. It was my first time on a resort's mountain bike park, and I loved it! More, please!
Kendra Eliason, National Territory Sales Manager
Had a less active spring this year with an ACL repair so did something a bit lighter... climbing in Spain! This is one of the classic crags in Spain, Montserrat. It was exciting to experience rock in another country. Everything you learned about pieces that look like they will pull was out the window. Fun Stuff! Best part was the reward of a visit to San Sabastian for my foodie husband and I!
Kylen Hogan, Graphic & Web Designer
One of my favorite excursions this summer was backpacking into the Rawah Wilderness in northern CO over Labor Day Weekend. This photo was taken on the last morning of the trip. It was hard to start the trek back after staring at this backdrop and hanging out by the most beautiful lakes for 3 days.
Luke Winkler, Adventure Product Manager
No matter where my travels take me fly fishing is always high on my list of things to do. Here is a bonefish caught near Glover's Reef in Southern Belize, one of my favorite fly fishing destinations. Sight casting to feeding fish on a crystal clear saltwater flat can be the most frustrating and rewarding experience a fisherman can experience, and that challenge keeps me coming back year after year.
Michael Stevenson, Applications Engineer
The majority of my summer was spent mountain biking CO but I'm not diligent about taking photos (not even one). So here's a picture of a lingcod that I caught in Desolation Sound, BC. Desolation Sound may be one of the most beautiful places I've ever explored; 75 degree water, endless fish, shrimp, and clams, beautiful views and tons of open space!
Rich Reynolds, Director of Engineering
Joe (our Manufacturing Engineer), Joe's girlfriend Molly, and I climbed Longs Peak this summer. A 2:40 am departure yielded the summit around 10:00. Windy and cold, but a great day for climbing!
Sarah Mc Nichols, Account Manager
This summer I went with 15 people from my church to the Dominican Republic to build a house for a family in need. This was done through an organization called Casas Por Christo. We built a 4 room house in 2.5 days. It was hot and humid but an amazing experience.
Stephanie McDonald, Recertification Coordinator
This was from a weekend frolicking around Estes Park, CO. We spent the morning hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park and spent the afternoon relaxing in the sun and paddling around Lake Estes.
Tedd Brenner, Account Manager
Here is Tedd and his wife Meghan on their 5th anniversary in Assiniboine Provincial Park outside of Banff, AB Canada. Meghan and Tedd backpacked over 40 miles to reach this remote mountain cirque. Here they are on top of the Nublet with Mt Assiniboine in the background.
